Black Economic Empowerment

In line with the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act and Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act , we have committed ourselves to Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmative Action policies and procedures. We do not perceive prevailing legislation as a driving force of our commitment to empowerment initiatives, but as a business strategy contributing to the success of our clients, our people and our country – forming part of our Mission Statement.

Perhaps the strongest ethic that permeates our entire company is our genuine commitment to Black Economic Empowerment. Through this commitment, we acknowledge every day how much we owe to the people with whom we work – and to our clients.

The fact that we are fully committed to Black Economic Empowerment is borne out by the company’s ownership and shareholding. GFIA is a Level Two Contributor with a 125% B-BBEE procurement recognition. We are an Empowering Supplier in terms of Clause 3.3 (b) of the dti Codes of Good Practice.

We constantly create opportunities to help previously disenfranchised people become real participants in, and owners of, businesses. In our view, equity is a sound business strategy which will eradicate unfair discrimination, implement affirmative action and ultimately create equal opportunities: a policy to ensure the company’s continued survival, growth and success in a competitive global economy. With a mind to the future, and tying in with our philosophy that it is desirable to promote from within, we go out of our way to identify and attract competent black staff with a potential for development.
